Can Profhilo Body Tighten Loose Skin on the Arms or Abdomen?

Profhilo Body may improve hydration, texture, elasticity and mild crepey laxity on areas such as the inner arms or abdomen. It cannot remove excess skin, reduce body fat or reproduce the result of body-contouring surgery. The likely change is subtle, varies between people and should be judged after an individual assessment.

MK Aesthetics offers Profhilo Body in Milton Keynes. Assessment should establish whether the concern is skin quality, fat, muscle tone or true excess skin.

What is Profhilo Body?

Profhilo Body is an injectable hyaluronic-acid skin treatment. It combines high- and low-molecular-weight forms in stabilised hybrid cooperative complexes and is not intended to build a defined contour.

The MK Aesthetics Profhilo Body page lists areas including the abdomen, thighs and inner arms. Treatment aims to improve skin quality rather than change weight, remove fat or fill a particular hollow. It should not be described as a non-surgical arm lift or tummy tuck.

Can Profhilo Body genuinely tighten loose skin?

It may improve the appearance and feel of mild laxity, especially when skin looks thin, dry or crepey. Some studies report changes in measured hydration, elasticity, density and laxity after treatment. However, “tighter-looking” skin is not the same as removing hanging or folded skin.

A substantial fold after pregnancy or major weight loss cannot be removed by injection. The NHS describes abdominoplasty as surgery that removes excess abdominal skin and may tighten muscle; it has scars, recovery and surgical risks.

Profhilo Body also does not treat obesity, visceral fat, a hernia or muscle separation. A new lump, painful swelling, rash, ulceration or functional problem needs appropriate medical assessment rather than routine cosmetic injection.

What does the research show—and what are its limits?

A 2026 systematic review covered nine studies and 278 participants. Researchers reported improvements or favourable trends in hydration, elasticity, density and laxity across areas including the inner arms, abdomen, knees and hands.

The findings are encouraging but cannot guarantee a visible result. Studies varied in body area, design, follow-up and outcome measures; several were small or lacked a comparison group.

Three of the review’s five authors worked for the manufacturer. This does not invalidate the findings, but larger independent controlled studies with longer follow-up would provide more certainty.

Who may be a reasonable candidate?

A possible candidate is an adult with mild crepey texture or laxity, stable weight, healthy injection sites and realistic expectations. Agree how change will be assessed and what is unlikely to improve.

Treatment may be unsuitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with infection or broken skin, or when allergies, illness, medicines or previous procedures alter risk. Disclose bleeding problems, immune conditions and poor healing.

What results and downtime are realistic?

Expect gradual rather than dramatic change. Session timing should follow the specific product instructions and assessment. Agree when progress will be reviewed and when further treatment would not be worthwhile.

Temporary bumps at injection points, redness, tenderness, swelling and bruising can occur. The 2026 review reported mostly mild events that usually settled within 72 hours, but small studies may miss uncommon complications. Visible marks may last longer for some people, so plan around real recovery rather than a promise of no downtime.

What are the risks and warning signs?

Injection risks include pain, bleeding, bruising, infection, inflammation, allergy, nodules, unevenness and disappointment. Rare vascular complications are recognised with aesthetic injections generally, even if small studies do not capture them.

Contact the treating clinic promptly for severe or increasing pain, spreading redness, heat, pus, fever, blistering, unusual pale or dusky skin, rapidly worsening swelling or symptoms that are not following the expected course. Call 999 for breathing difficulty, collapse or signs of a severe allergic reaction.

What aftercare should you plan for?

Follow written aftercare. Keep the area clean, do not press or massage unless advised, and ask when skincare, exercise, swimming, heat and tight clothing can resume.

Good aftercare cannot guarantee a result or prevent every complication. Make sure you know who to contact outside normal hours and whether a review is included before you proceed.

How does Profhilo Body compare with other options?

Different concerns need different options. Strength training may improve muscle tone but cannot remove skin; weight management changes fat volume. Energy-based procedures and surgery have different evidence, risks and downtime.

The best comparison depends on the diagnosis and desired change. Our guide to Profhilo versus dermal fillers explains why a skin-quality injectable is not a substitute for structural filler. For marked excess skin, a surgical opinion may be more relevant than repeated injectable treatment.

What should you ask at a Milton Keynes consultation?

Ask what is causing the concern; why this product fits; realistic improvement; evidence for the area; session plan and total cost; downtime; alternatives; practitioner training and insurance; and complication arrangements.

You can use our guide to preparing for a first aesthetics consultation to organise questions. Choosing no treatment remains a valid option.

Frequently asked questions

Does Profhilo Body remove fat?

No. It is intended to address skin quality, not destroy fat cells or cause weight loss.

Can it remove loose skin after major weight loss?

No injectable can remove a substantial skin fold. An assessment can clarify whether the concern is mild laxity or true excess skin and whether a surgical opinion is appropriate.

Is Profhilo Body a dermal filler?

Both contain hyaluronic acid, but Profhilo Body is used for broader skin-quality aims rather than building a defined shape or replacing a specific volume deficit.

How long do results last?

Duration varies and large independent long-term studies are limited. Ask when results should be reviewed and what maintenance, if any, is evidence-based for your circumstances.

How can I discuss Profhilo Body with MK Aesthetics?

MK Aesthetics is in Shenley Brook End, Milton Keynes. You can contact the clinic to request an assessment of the area. A consultation does not promise suitability, treatment or a particular outcome.
